Mission: Prologue
Location: Engineering Room, Freighter, Kalandra Sector
Timeline: Dominion War, 2373

Things still hadn't been working well. They were now down to a couple of compartments that had decent amount of oxygen, and weren't overly filled with carbon dioxide and other contaminates. "This isn't working!" Kae screamed as she was frustrated. "It's been over a day drifting in this forsaken sector and nothing. I can't get them to work. It's like they took the full source of the damn ion storm. Dumb shit," she exclaimed in frustration as she kicked the console.

Vee walked to the edge f the room after hearing the clunking and sound of curses. "You okay in here, Stripes?"

Without turning to him, she nearly growled at the console. "It won't work. Twigs and Sweets took hacks at it and honestly, I think it's worse than it was before," she mentioned of two of the others that had worked on the console.

Gregon shook his head from side to side, as he had spent most of the day working on the communications systems to try to get it working. They were both failing it seemed. "It'll come around. I trust in your skills, Stripes. Has Pointy looked at it yet?"

She rolled her eyes. Their resident Vulcan had been spending most of his time working on the integrity systems instead. "No, he's trying to be the shield between us and death if another storm wave comes through..."

Though it was in that moment the freighter lurched hard. Containers and loose items falling from shelves and holding lockers as the thrumming hum of a tractor beam locked onto the ship. A loud klaxon sounded. An incoming transmission piped over the speakers.

=/\="Freighter, this is the Federation Starship Matthew Decker, stand by for tractor beam maneuvers and tow." =/\=

Kaeserin grabbed a hold of the console as the ship lurched; their broken state was well defined and understood. "At least it's friendly and not not," she muttered.

Vee held onto the beam next to her. "I mean I was going to ask to make sure you didn't piss off those Maquis at Alpha 441..."

She scoffed. "Vee, for the love of everything, let's not talk about that port, okay? Whatever you do, don't let Twigs hear that or we'll never hear the end of how she had to hide her antennae for our duration there."

On the bridge of the Matthew Decker, a crew of five stand at their posts. A large Caitian stands over the helm where a human maneuvers the ship.

"Nice and easy, D-Ray. Come to heading 2-Niner-6, ahead Two Thirds."

"Gentle...I can do that."

The Caitian taps a comm panel on the helm. "Sickbay, Margret, standby for incoming"

=/\="Understood."=/\= the voice of a woman, sweet and gentle, came over the speakers.

The freighter lurched again as it moved, being towed by the unknown Federation Starship.

"Frieghter, stand by for transport."

The whine of a transporter grips the occupants of the freighter as they're beamed to the Decker's sickbay.

The Caitian turned to head for the turbolift to meet their new passengers, looking at a Bolian sitting in the XO seat.

"Phaylen, you have the deck, i'll be in sickbay, yellin at whoever decided to take a frieghter through here without proper shields.

As soon as the twinkle evaporated, the disheveled engineering corps squad dressed in civilian clothes wearing grime of days worth of roughing it appeared next to the small civilian crew and Captain of the Freighter.

The Captain of the freighter stated. "Ahh, fresh air. See you Starfleet... you worry too much."

Kae was stopped by her commanding officer when she started to wind up a right hook at the disparaging comment about the air. She turned and held her hands up in defeat, acquiesced to the situation. "Fine," she muttered.

The Sickbay doors open and a hulking Caitian in a Starfleet uniform enters. He ducks his head under the short door. Towering at near 7 foot and built like a brick house. His uniform crisp, flexing over muscles. He looked stern, observing the group.

Vee turned to the woman and team whom seemed in charge. "Lieutenant Gregon Varzen, Engineering Corps Squad commanding officer. Thank you for the assist."

"Commander Elias McEntyre, Starfleet Special Forces. Would ya mind tellin me what the BLUE FUCK y'all doin out here, El-Tee?" The Caitian introduced himself, speaking in a thick Texan drawl. McEntyre was a name that resonated through Starfleet history as one of the families who helped to found the Federation though their actions in the Earth-Romulan War.

"Hitching a ride from Kabrel to Kressari. We paid extra to bypass the Kalandra system. Our host thought he'd take a short cut and take a latinum surplus while we were sleeping. We've been adrift for a couple of days now," Varzen replied, side eyeing the small freighter's Captain trying to shrink away. "That or he hoped we wouldn't hit the natural, frequent ion storms."

Kae scoffed. "They had underlying issues. Maybe they thought we'd be able to fix their ship with minor storm damage, keen to live."

Elias glared down the freighter captain before he snapped his paw fingers. "Sentry, take the captain into custody." He ordered as a sentry in a Starfleet Uniform and armor with a royal blue undershirt appeared.

"Lieutenant, get you and your squad cleared, I want a full debriefing on your current objectives and mission orders. Oo-Rah?" Elias spoke to Gregon.

"Oo-Rah," Vee said. "Debrief tonight or first thing tomorrow morning?" Vee asked.

"Briefing Room, Three Hours. Grab Chow, Shower, change into fresh Uniforms. Thank you gentlemen. Welcome to the Decker." Elias nods as he turns on his heels in prim military fashion before exiting Sickbay.
